The draws for the Rogers Cup take place Friday for the men's and women's fields in Toronto and Montreal respectively.
In Montreal the draw is to be held at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth hotel at 6:30pm. Simona Halep is the No. 1 seed this year and made the semifinals a year ago in Toronto. Her previous best finish at the Rogers Cup was in 2016 when she won in Montreal over Madison Keys in the final.
The men's draw will take place in Toronto downtown at Bisha with World No. 1 Rafael Nadal assisting with the draw ceremony. Nadal will play the Rogers Cup for a 12th time and is an impressive 35-3 in 2018 on the ATP World Tour. Nadal has won the event three times, in 2005 against Andre Agassi, 2008 against Nicolas Kiefer and more recently in 2013 against Canada's own Milos Raonic.
Here is a shot of Nadal with tournament director Karl Hale at the draw ceremony from 2010 when it was conducted from atop the CN Tower in Toronto.
