ETA: Kuznetsova 6-4 6-0 actually. Well done, Svetlana! What's up with Amelie, though? ANOTHER bagel? It must be said: that's no way for a world Number 1 to go out, no matter how well Sveta's playing right now. Here's a match review, with quotes from the players.
I'm gonna go with Mauresmo in three. This is live right now...I hear it's on CCTV5...will look for a stream...
ETA: There are lots of options here. Just scroll down.
ETA: ...none of which seem to work. Anyway, there's a rain delay at 4 all in the 1st set.
Yeah federated, those streams are more like 'Live pictures' than 'Live STREAMS' if you know what I mean, but thanks for looking anyway.
Well, it's 6:00AM here in PST zone and I am sooooooo glad I didn't wake up at 4:00AM to "live scoreboard"-watch so Imma gonna go back to sleep now that there's pretty much no chance of finishing the match today.

Wow, Kuzy is playing amazing once again.
Dissapointed that I didn't get a Jankovic vs. Peng, but Kuznetsova is playing some tremendous tennis as of late. She's finally going to be in the Top 4 now, I believe. :]

sorry! just busy with school! and after she beat mirza 6-1 6-0 in the semis it seemed like a bygone conclusion.

I like Amelie alot, but these bagels are humiliating, and not the type of scoreline great #1 players receive.
It's really apparent that Amelie is not an all court player. The other players Maria, Justine and Sveta all have a US OPEN grand slam title - guess who doesn't?
If I were Amelie, I would work my ass off and try to right this wrong now for the 2007 season. As things are now - she's not good enough, and can't expect to have Justine in a final in every event to win.

No, but Mauresmo is overcoming those obstacles - she beat her nemesis Serena in Flushing Meadows, then pummeled Davenport in Beijing: two players she can never beat. She's still a strong mental player, but falls against aggresive baseliners like Kuzy and Sharapova. I think she needs to overcome these two the same way she did with Serena and Davenport, but overall, Mauresmo IMO is still the best all-around player in the game.

I think Amelie was just pissed that she had to play at 10:00 PM local time on Sunday night after the rain delay; hence the bagel. She was actually leading 4-2 in the first set, got broken back to 4-4, and then the rain came, at which point she slammed her racket into the chair. She was seriously PO'd, and besides, what does it matter if you have a USO title? Roddick has one and I don't think *anyone* would call him an "all-court player" (and neither would I call Sharapova that, given her lack of *any* clay court titles).
Amelie broke my heart with all these bagels, but I have faith in her. She's overcome much worse (like the H2H's against Serena and Davenport).
