Just wanted to let you know you are doing a fabulous job taking over this site.

ancicfan

ancic has already put his naysayers to rest, if i may say so. he won dc deciding tie (expected but at least he didn't choke) last year...this year first round dc he was down 6-7 6-7 on clay to melzer and came back and won in five and then the next day came back from a 0-2 set deficit to win in five AGAIN in doubles. then in rome he made it to the quarters...he saved three mps against serra and then the next day saved three mps AGAIN against hidalgo after losing 1-5 15-40 in the third with hidalgo serving. he has a bit of a rep now for being able to rise from the dead although his chances going into a MS semi final vs. Robredo are looking very very bad. nice run tho. especially for a grass-courter serve and volleyer. hey...didn't robredo have trouble with rusedski in rome? :P p.s. glad to see that the blog is still going! thanks for taking over!

You're absolutely right, ancicfan! Mario definitely proved his mettle earlier in Rome and DC. With Gaudio imploding, I'd wager that Ancic will crack the top 10 by the end of the Fench Open.
