Andrew Golota...Tennis Player?

From Tennis Week: Tennis Packs a Punch for Heavyweight Golota

He has stood toe-to toe with some of the most feared fighters on the planet while they did their best to separate his head from his body. Andrew Golota has fought for the heavyweight title, but believes his most formidable physical challenge has come on a fast rubber tennis court rather than in the ring.

His introduction to tennis came by chance. A locker room conversation with a fellow gym member who happened to be a tennis instructor resulted in a new friendship and hobby for heavyweight boxer Golota...

Here's more of world-renowned boxer Andrew Golota's perspective on tennis, including why he believes tennis offers the toughest test of any sport, the similarities between boxing and tennis and why he thinks the mercurial McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Marat Safin and Hewitt might make good fighters.

Strengths: "Not a bad serve. I served 109 mph. I think I can serve. Backhand is okay. My coach says I have a natural backhand. Forehand is so far the best shot I think. It's a shame to admit it, I can't play now. Because I'm afraid to hurt myself. I had a little bit tennis elbow before. I'm afraid to play now when I get ready for the fight. I don't want to get stuck with tennis arm."

Weaknesses: "Everything else! I'm not very good with the one hand smashes. And not that good at the net — yet!"

Which ATP Tour Player Could Be A Champion fighter?: "Everybody has a chance. You've got to be a fighter. McEnroe would play them dirty. He made them lose their focus, that's exactly what he do every time. He's the most distracting guy I've ever seen. Made them lose their focus. He was aggravating people. But I think Andy Roddick. He's the biggest, strongest one I think. He has the fastest serve, right. Safin — maybe. Hewitt — he looks like a fighter. I think he wants to be a fighter. He acts like a fighter."
